My son is very unhappy and really not doing well in his 4 yr old playgroup in town. To the point where he is regressing from how his morah is mishandling him and kids hurting him there.
I really feel that I need to switch him but don't know to whom. Any knowledge of who has a boys' 4yr old group in Lakewood?
There are no ads since places here fill up a yr in advance, but maybe someone would do a favor....

( I am posting as anon bec the playgroup issue in this town is very touchy....)

| there is someone shosh rubin I think she is great. shes off fof central but I dont know if she has room at this point or if anyone else would take him mid yr

| Do you need someplace in town? I know of someone who does a 4-year-old boys' playgroup down Route 9, but I'm not sure if she is willing to take someone new at this point.

| You can try Lakewood Headstart II (The Jewish/frum division). I heard back in November that they had extra openings because they had to start late this year, and some parents pulled their kids out.

732-364-4333 You have to ask for the Jewish program.
I forgot to mention that acceptance is on a first come first serve basis depending on income and other needs. It is govt funded. So it's not always easy to get in. But I heard from a teacher I know that works there, that there were extra openings this year.

Call Ziva Kriger, she may be able to help you get into a playgroup, and choose something suitable for your son.

She is supposedly fantastic. I had a friend send to her after her son was thrown out mid-year from a playgroup and she was very positive with him in redirecting his energy. I believe she has specific training on how to deal with ceratin issues.
Ziva Kriger (as Chayalle mentioned) is also a great resource in general. She can give you guidence with your son. Just keep calling and calling if you can't reach her.

| Shosh is full, any other ideas? I got name of Hindy Rothenberg but she is full as well... really desperate here, I don't think he would do well at home a whole year!

She is not a teacher. But someone who is very familiar with playgroups in town. She would also be a good person to speak to when looking into schools for your child. She should be in an old book.
