Do you consider not kosher tzitzis shaimos?

I have a whole pile and from what I understand some people do and some don't. What do you do? The yarmulkas we throw away.

I have a bag full. when pesach comes around I take it with the rest of my shaimos and give it for genizah.

I was told to wrap them twice, and put them in the regular garbage.

A bracha was made on it and twas used for a dvar mitzvah I would definitely not have the heart to just dump em in regular trash. Its lightweight and small and I usually save them till pesach comes around. And even the ones that are pusil I dont dump.

The major Lakewood poskim hold that you put it in a plastic bag, tie it shut and throw it in reg. garbage.

according to what I learnt, the strings have to be buried. You can cut off the strings and throw out the shirt part.

Tzitzis are a real mitzvah from the torah so they are shaimos. There is no mitzvah in the torah to wear a yarmulka (its in the gemarah). So yamulkas are not shaimos.

I have PILES of non kosher tzitzis that need to be taken to a shaimos drop off! DH strongly holds that a child may not wear non kosher tzitizis because of chinuch, in the same way that one my not give a child a lulav and lemon on Sukkos. So he is constantly checking the boys' tzitzis and giving me the ones he won't allow to be in circulation anymore.

They're not shaimos by definition (shaimos is, by definition, something printed with Hashem's name on it). HOWEVER, they are kodesh, and should be sent to the geniza, like shaimos.

Is it awful that I never remember?
I have tons of torn fringes sitting around because I never remember if I can throw them away.
I have vague feeling that we're supposed to double bag them and throw them out - but I can never remember to ask DH about it and he keeps thinking I'm crazy for forgetting (I have four younger sisters, by the time my brothers came along I was almost out of the house, I didn't grow up with tzitzis all over).

I had this argument with my son, called the Rov, and found out he (son) was right. They are not shaimos. They are thrown out-wrapped in a bag. IIRC, its not shaimos cuz tzitis are not kadosh on their own. If you have just the strings, they mean nothing. They are there to make a four cornered garment allowed to be worn.
