http://news.yahoo.com/blogs/si.....04409.html
I just saw this story when I went to Yahoo to check my email..
This Vodka put a huge billboard in Manhattan with a large slogan "x-mas Quality, Chanuka Prices"
There was a huge uproar and the billboard was destroyed. Is it just me or is everyone way too hyper-sensitive..

To me it was offensive, and dumb. But they seem to favor those kinds of ads. _________________ But then again, I'm a dragon.

I do think it was offensive. I wouldn't have had a total cow, but it was definitely more offensive than funny. _________________ http://crunchyandkosher.blogspot.com/

| I'm usually the first (or at least second!) to complain about political correctness run amok, but I did find the billboard offensive. It seems kind of clueless in this day and age!

| Apparently, their last ad was "Hamptons Quality, Newark Pricing" so this one couldn't be anything other than offensive.

Sounds like they're trying to do the humorous insult shtik. I get the idea, and I've seen it used in ways that really were funny . . . but neither of these is funny enough or over-the-top enough to be an obvious joke.

| It's saying, "Good enough for Christians, cheap enough for Jews." I think that's offensive.

That's it exactly.
Why didn't they say Xmas Quality, Black Friday prices?
They had to have known what they were doing. No DLKZ here. Companies have entire depts. whose job is to make sure they don't publish anything that will get them in trouble.

| Such bad ads can only help project a low quality image.

If I remember correctly, I saw one that read, "TV Show Quality, Reality Show Pricing" or something like that.

Totally offended and really happy I did not drive by that sign!
So glad it was taken down! _________________ "Always be a first rate version of yourself, instead of a second rate version of somebody else" Judy Garland

That add promotes negative stereotypes as well as being entirely offensive.
That said, I wonder if they knew full well what they were doing, figured they would get a ton of free publicity and so went ahead anyways.

absolutely (pun intended..I.e. absolut vodka) that billboard should have gone down.
I've heard catty comments about Jews and money until I could throw up. Rather shamelessly among the (ironically) moneyed upper classes when I lived in England, and now I see its found its way into American advertisements.
Yes, it was disgusting. _________________ Say, Think or Do One Thing Now to Bring Moshiach!

This has nothing to do with defaming Chanuka and everything to do with the stereotype of Jews being cheap (as in the verb, to jew). Ugly. I'll chill about a lot but I don't like this. _________________ The righteous praise and honor people for every good quality that is found in them while the wicked seek out faults in others to pull them down, even if they repented those deeds.
