| |
I didn't know where to put this because it can fit in so many different forums.
Anyway, I'm due to have a c/s on Sunday. I've been trying everything I can to get a vbac, but unless I go into birth in the next couple of days, which is really unlikely, I'm scheduled for a c/s.
Now on top of all of the emotions that stem from that, (I've been trying everything to get a vbac), and we just moved and cooking and cleaning to get ready, and arranging childcare, school stuff, packing, etc. etc. etc. Getting furniture, settled, and dealing with doctors, hospitals, etc., I've resigned myself to this c/s and IYH, will just have a beautiful, healthy baby.
DH is much more optimistic about the whole thing. He called a gadol that he's close to. Finally getting through to him, the Rav says that we shouldn't do the c/s on the scheduled day, and to wait at least one day unless medically necessary.
Now, neither dh nor I are especially...spiritual (for want of a better term), we're litvish, as is the Rav, but he's a Gadol and knows things...but it's just so frustrating to have everything set and now everything may or may not change.
I told dh that I'm done. If he wants the date to change, then he has to do it. Not to mention that if it's a boy, the bris would've been on a Sunday which is WAY more convenient than a MOnday or Tuesday...
I'm not talking to any more doctors or hospitals or even family. He wants change, he has to affect it.
What do you think?

| I'm wondering why you asked if everything was all set already?

| To be fair, I guess that he just didn't think we'd need to do a c/s that I'd go into labor and we wouldn't have to worry about all of it. But now that it's a few days away, it's coming more clear to him that it might happen.

| I get that. I could see my husband doing the same thing in your situation. And honestly, I could hear myself telling him the same thing you did. It's a huge hassle timewise and uses up a lot of emotional reserves that you probably don't have right now. I think it's okay to ask him to take care of the technicals. B'hatzlacha and feel well!

Is there a medical reason for have a c on that day?If there isn't then sorry I agree with your DH. There is something about a baby being born into a certain mazal and you're not supposed to change that mazal unless it's medicaly necesary to induce. And about it not being comvenient, sorry hon but babies are not know to be convenient! _________________ Smile there, aint you glad your living:)

OP here - Well I guess it was all for naught. I just got a call from my doc's office. Apparently my doc spoke to the RAV!!!! And he apparently agrees with her that it should be on Sunday (I don't know why).
As for the bris being delayed. I don't know. My other 2 were a little yellow, but not enough to be delayed...
4 days. IYH by me

Was this with or without your consent? If it was without your consent that was a huge HIPAA violation _________________ ~Rebecca
