| I recently bought a long sheitel which I love except for the giant knotty mess that I get in the back. I comb it out before I wear it but as the day goes on the back becomes a giant knot. Any tips on how to minimize this issue?

| My shaitel gets knotty too, and in the winter its even worse because of the coat and scarf. I found that it helps when I use paul mitchell smoothing serum (you can order it from amazon). I put a little on my palms, rub it on the inner layer of the shaitel, and brush it with a fat brush. It still gets knotty but not as bad.

| I had a sheital like that. For a while I tried to deal with it. Isometimes braided the layer closest to my neck to minimize the knotting and washed it more often. I got mine from a gemach in Israel, so I couldn't return it, but if you got yours from a reputable place, return it. They should stand behind their product and replace it with something comparable that doesn't knot. If like me you have to deal with it, you can try hot oil treatments or argan oil or biosilk or braiding or you can cut it, but it probably won't fix the problem. Mine just made me cry every time I wore it. I finally cut mine and it looks horrible, but it doesn't drive me nuts anymore, so I'll wear it if I have to.

| is it a curly wig? I have 2 curly wigs and I get knots underneath but everyone keeps saying this is normal... I just brush it out and try to run my fingers through it during the day...

| Ask your shaitelmacher if she does hot oil treatments - it might help.

| a friend of mine had this problem with a new shaitel she bought. Turns out some of the hairs were sewn in upside down and the hair shafts ran against each other and so it looked like a mess as soon as she started wearing it. the company stood behind it and re-sewed the hairs in correctly. good luck with your shaitel!

I like putting fructus anti frizz cream in the part of hair that knots around the neck ,(I generate heat and get knons regardless of the price /prand or quality of the sheitel)
This fructus leave on cream did such a good job completely eliminating the knots I put it on my list of favorite things for sheitel care .
