Come, on. Did everyone who signs read everything about the petition site? The White House isn't like a nice daddy who gives his kid a pony if they ask enough times. This is not like the other petitions, about the environment or whatever. This is asking one branch of government to do something that is in the jurisdiction of another branch of government.

It was a silly effort and this was all it was ever going to yield. All anybody needs to do is read the explanation and understand.

I am not surprised in the least.

I knew nothing would come of it. I signed anyway to show my support and to do any hishtadlus that was possible.

I think a better venue would be to petition to the supreme court.

there may be a very slight chance that they will take the case and if they do Rubashkin may have another chance.

Interesting that you said this because when the petition drive was going on and there were constant posts to sign..sign..sign.. because we need this many numbers, I wondered if people thought this was like American Idol or something. If enough people vote, then you win!

Our justice system, thankfully, does not work that way.

I also don't think anyone bothered to read WHO was going to review these petitions. Obama was not going to sit and read, and then comment on each one. Someone from an appropriate committee would review it, and then make a comment, not the President.
