The kosher stores tend to carry a brand from Israel with a mehadrin hecksher. Goya is OU and there is an organic brand of coconut milk with a west coast hashgacha. The star-k says that you don't need a hashgacha for coconut milk that is NOT from China... _________________ Interested in learning more about homeschooling?

That product is yummy but not coconut milk in its entirety. It contains many thickeners and stabilizers, so if she want the properties of coconut milk, it won't work.

| cream of coconut and coconut milk have different levels of fat so can't substitute one for another. cream of coconut is much higher fat, usually in solid form. BTW, make sure you SHAKE the can very well before opening coconut milk--sometimes solid bit sticks to the lid/bottom of the can.

I make my own. I dont always find it in the makolet by me so I just make it. As long as you have unsweetened flaked coconut and hot water you can.
And to be honest my husband prefers it. I make a sweet potato soup with it and he thinks it tastes much better with the fresh homemade coconut milk.
