I thought it was Zappos -- that people would use the shoes they bought for their kids and then return it within the year to buy the next size up.

How is that possible if Zappos doesn't accept returns of worn merchandise? Unless they walked on their hands..

I have no idea. I thought that's what I remembered someone telling me; she had to do return orders for her friends in Lakewood....

I was using Melas for years. It used to $2.99, then $3.49, now $3.99. It is very expensive when you wear them everyday. I just bought Filazzi for $2.99 and they are not bad. I also bought some no nonsense brand in the summer in shop rite when they went on sale for $2.99 (regular $3.99), also pretty good.

And for the poster who asked where can you get Melas that price, it's for 12 denier, anywhere in bp. The 6 or 8 denier (don't remember) is much more expensive.

I don't believe these Loshon Horahs anymore. Lands-end certainly accepts returns from 08701 and Zappos doesn't accept used merchandise for returns so both of these rumors are unfounded.

I once told someone at a wedding that her tag was sticking out, she laughed and said that she was planning on returning it, she was just trying it out for the night.. Rolling Eyes I heard Lands End doesn't accept returns from zip code 08701 (Lakewood) after a certain period of time? I don't know if it's true or not and no offense to Lakewood people!!!! Just because there's a policy in place because a company wants to have good customer service doesn't mean one should abuse it...

Please tell me this isnt true! I've heard of people wearing things with tags, returning things to costco after they have been used, but I horrific that Lands End would refuse returns from an entire zipcode.
I really hope it isnt actually true.

My siblings live in Lakewood, thats what they told me - I hope its just an urban legend as well! But ever see the return line in Walmart in the mountains after the summer? Same thing, kiddie pools, air conditioners, grills.. sad..

Like I said I hope the Lands End is an urban legend but I'm not the only one who's heard it. Zappos does actually accept returns for used merchandise if the shoes were defective for some reason. My sister bought a pair of shoes for her daughter and after wearing them for 2 Shabbosim the rhinestones on the front starting falling off. She emailed Zappos, they accepted her return no problem and gave her credit for a different pair.

I'm OP. Thank you all for your suggestions. I bought Melas stockings in "honey" and I LOVE them. So comfortable and cheap too!
