He married a chubby broad. She's still here. | I can appreciate what you wrote, except mine is still skinny and I wasn't chubby or a broad.
Two weeks ago, my childhood friend reminded me, while at her daughter's wedding: "Remember the first time you saw your DH, in Tzfat ? You said "THAT'S the guy I'm going to marry". We were 16...... but - I was right, 32 years ago.
We came from different worlds, though both of us lived in Israel and both are Jewish. That's about all we had in common.

| My Sem friend's roommate's brother. I use to visit my friend sometimes and got to know her roommate. She was one of the people who suggested the Shidduch. The best shidduchim are from people who know you rather then official shadchanim.I

My 2rd cousin, although living on different continents I didn't know he existed.
My father though spent a lot of time at his great aunt and uncle so got to know my mil and the family.
My grandparents are second cousins, my great aunt and uncle are first cousins. There was a lot of family marrying common at the time, now not really so much.

My parents and my in-laws were neighbors when we were babies...in Brooklyn. Mom remembers DH's bris! My family moved OOT when I was a year old and lost touch with my in-laws.
When I was 21, my parents were in Brooklyn for a Shabbos and my father met my FIL in a shul on Shabbos afternoon. They caught up on old times, and FIL told my father that DH is 23, and you mentioned that your daughter is now 21, I think they should meet.
DH has an aunt who lives around the corner from my parents, and cousins that I went to high-school with. DH resembles one cousin alot! I always liked her, so it was like dating someone familiar. _________________ Chayalle

DH and I are like 5th cousins or something. we didn't know each other but our mothers are friends and his grandfather's second wife was in the concentration camp with my grandmother and they're very close.
his mother had a recipe that I used to make all the time. I didn't really know her but I knew it was mrs. ___'s recipe. _________________ Do not meddle in the affairs of dragons, for you are crunchy and taste good with ketchup.

I married my friend's brother. I'd met him before, and then traveled in for her wedding and we got to chatting and hit it off, so we asked my rabbi to set it up "officially". _________________ Mommy to
