I recieved this e-mail and wanted to pass it along.

Fund for the Family of R' Moshe Reichenberg z''l

Man Electrocuted in Monsey Trying to Save an 8 Year Old Boy

PLEASE NOTE CORRECTED ADDRESS OF ORH SOMAYACH YESHIVA IN MONSEY IS 244 ROUTE 306 AND NOT WHAT WAS LISTED IN THE PREVIOUS EMAIL.

As some of us are aware, the husband of Rus Miriam (Coren) Reichenberg, a Neve alumna of about 25 years ago, tragically lost his life in Hurricane Irene, which flooded much of the New York area about two weeks ago. Rabbi Moshe Yosef was killed as he attempted to save the life of a young boy who had been struck by a fallen high voltage power line in Monsey, New York.

The selfless instincts that R' Moshe Yosef exhibited were the embodiment of his life. Over 25 years ago he enrolled in Ohr Somayach Yeshiva and he quickly endeared himself to everyone he came into contact with. Although R' Moshe Yosef's life was beset with extreme financial and personal challenges, his infectious joy and emunah never wavered. He was a beacon of light to his neighbors and chaverim and a pillar of support to his wife and four children.

Now it is our turn to demonstrate our selflessness as we attempt to alleviate the financial straits faced by his dear wife, Rus Miriam, and their family. The Reichenberg children range in age from 11-18, and a number of family members have special needs, including a severely autistic son. The oldest, a daughter, is ready to find her shidduch, be'H. The Reichenberg family has had financial difficulties for some time. Their home was already in foreclosure, and they were on the verge of declaring bankruptcy when R' Moshe Yosef was killed.

This Elul, as we look for merits to add to our own accounts, let us remember the Reichenberg family and give generously.

The administrators of Ohr Somayach Yeshiva in Monsey have established a special fund to provide for the future needs of the family and for the costs of special education for their autistic son. Checks can be made payable to Ohr Somayach Yeshiva and earmarked by a memo for the Reichenberg Family Fund. They can be mailed to Ohr Somayach Yeshiva, c/o Rabbi Yochanan Wosner, 244 Route 306, Monsey, NY 10952. Donations are tax-deductible.
