I am thinking about lighting a candle today - without a bracha
when the kids come home for school -
does any one know the jewish date for 9/11?
a orthodox shul in my area is going to have a program for
9/11
to it

9 / 11
happened when my kids and I still remember that day
I think the school should do more!
the other events that you mention did not effect me personally

So if it's not a matter of Halacha, why are you giving her such a difficult time?
She wants to light a candle? Light a candle. Do one on Yom haZikaron and Yom haShoah too if you like... _________________

| Esther01 I heard of that story of a husband saying vidui on the phone with his wife. I m so sorry. I witnessed the whole thing especialy the second airplane going into the building. Here is a miracle story that happened to me. I was to get a job in the OU building which is not too far away from the trade center a few weeks before I didn't get the job cause another girl typed 2 words faster than me and I was told good bye. The next day I got a job at a boro park company. I was so mad for not getting the job at the OU job But HASHEM DOES EVERYTHING FOR THE BEST. One frum man was saved cause a meshulach came to him and asked for donation the guy had no money so they went downstairs to the bank machine and the plane went into the window one floor above that mans office they were both saved because of TZEDAKA.

I've always wondered if it was a halacha. I've seen people doing very different things. Lighting for everyone including cousins in law, not lighting for anyone except rav, lighting on civil date...
What is the general custom? Parents and grandparents?
