| For awhile now, since I've gained some weight, my bras havent been that comfortable. so I decided to check my size. I measured and googled a bra size calculator and apparently my size is 40j or 40i. what are these sizes???? before I gained weight I was a 36c. I didnt even know there were sizes above F...

Bra sizes have been recalculated in the past couple years, and different manufacturers are doing different things. There was an article in the times. So it's not you---it's the manufacturers!!

OH--I wanted to add to CM and Mirabelle.
Good stores to get fitted if you're in Manhattan:
The Town Shop (Bway in the 80s)
Orchard Corset (LES)

I second the Orchard St corset shop, very very good. When I lived in the city I used to go there and another place in Harlem that I can't remember the name.

Me too. I always thought that I was a "normal" size like 34D or 36C based on measurements and the internet... turns out I was a 32F! I can't buy bras of that size in most department stores, but now that I'm wearing the right size I'm soooo much more comfortable now that I'm wearing the right size.
Nordstrom's is good for buying bras of good quality in a range of sizes if you have one near you but don't have a good boutique shop.

| I agree you most go get fitted by a professional. As for weird sizes... Bra sizes definatly go up past F... I wear a 32G, have been fitted many times by professionals... really hard to find a bra for less than $100 at that size, so hopefully you are more like a DD or an E.

Where do you shop? I used to be a 38J (now I've "only" a 36G) and I have worn Goddess and Elila bras that didn't cost anywhere near that.

I have to go to specialty stores because I am a 32!!! G
If I was a 38G it wouldnt be AS HARD to find my size. I have bought bras for $60 but they didnt have enough suppiort for me and werent that great. Sometimes I can find online for cheaper, on sale/with a coupon. But I can only buy online if its one of the same bras I own or have owned already, and I know the make and sytle work for me.

| There is a company called Edith Lance. It specializes in good fitting bras. They hold u up and are very comftrable. Their cup sizes run like ps...xps...xxps...ps stands for personel size. They sell this bra in little bra shopes in New york. like flatbush ect. THey also have it listed on the web..they are not cheap,,they cost about 90 dollars and u have to wash it by hand because of the wire but it is great. I wont wear anything else.

| I know what you mean. There are a wide range of Bra sizes--except when it comes to nursing bras! I went to a Motherhood store and they told me that their largest size was an E/F (which seemed more E than F) and during my pregnancy I went to G/H. Trying to find supportive nursing bras that didnt cost an arm and a leg was a trip.

It is extremely hard to find 32 out there (even for a B/C). When they do sell that size, it is very limited. I feel your pain OP. It's hard enough finding shoes as well because most stores carry size 6 and up.

| makes me feel so good that many ladies out there are bigger than a cup b/c, I am a 36 dd and when I nurse I am like a cup g, I always feel everyone is smaller than me and I look heavier than most cuz I am so busty. I feel the majority of most women are like cups a b and c, and when you are d and above its like wooooooo u r huge and cant find decent tops and bathing suits, everywhere I go I feel busty , and its usually heavy women that tend to be heavy in the chest, but very pleased to hear tHAT THERE ARE OTHER WOMEN OUT THERE WITH CUPS D AND ABOVE.

After D, here, good luck finding in a regular place.
Yes, sizes exist very high, I saw a Q bra online!
Tops wise I just don't wear buttons, or close gaps. I think looking big on top prevents me from looking big on stomach or hips LOL _________________

I second the Godess bras, you can buy them cheap on line thru 'sale sites'. I bought 36JJ size bras for about $35 less than a year ago. Godess are bult like scaffolding and I love being able to move about without my boobs going in a different direction _________________ ~~~experienced doula since 2006~~~
