I don't know if this sounds weird or sick of me but I've been crying since I cooked dinner. I was cutting up my chicken , prepping for dinner. And tears poured down my cheeks. How can someone do that to a human?! Let alone a poor innocent 9 year old?! Sad :'( R'L

what sickens me is that this Mr. Levi killed the boy once he realized what a massive hunt was underway; he panicked and suffocated him. The dismembering business was so that he could 'dispose' of the body more easily. I saw a photo of him; he looks normal! I'm stunned that this huge achdus'dig search turned out to be Leiby's death sentence Sad Then again, had he been found alive, he wouldve had a life sentence of mental torture (and possibly becoming a pedo himself) after being ostensibly molested by this man... who knows... all in all this story is horrifying. But I'm so haunted by the reality that he was alive and well yesterday and killed only because everyone was looking for him! Sad

And if you believe that he'd have let him go just like that, I have a bridge to sell you.

I have to wonder what the parents of Levy Aron are thinking and feeling at this time. In a sense they have lost a son, the one they thought they had raised. Those of us with adult children know the joy of watching them mature and fulfill their potential, and the Aron family will not only never have this naches but will have to live with what their child has done. My heart goes out to them, too.
I'm sorry, but I can't believe that parents of such a monster can be normal themselves.

You are extremely naive if you think that if someone's sick, or has a personality disorder, it means that so are their parents.

So his parents live right under him, and they didn't notice that he came home with a boy?
Didn't notice anything strange?

Wouldn't the boy have been screaming for help if a strange man is taking him to an apartment?

Do we know for sure the parents were home? They could have easily not heard if they were in a room with a window a/c unit, for example.

As far as Leiby screaming, most abductors use the threat of violence to move their victim, saying something like, if you do what I say, you won't get hurt, but if you scream, I'll ....

I have read this and I don't even want to hear it. Are we really supposed to believe that this guy grabbed a kid off the street with the intent of returning him safely? This is just pure sheker and is an insult to all those who worked so hard to find Leiby. If it weren't for the massive hunt, this rasha might have had time to hide his crime and get away with it.
And murderers who get away with it, develop a taste for it, and end up doing it again. Crying or Very sad

Chasdei Hashem they caught him.

We are beyond ourselves about Leiby. Crying or Very sad It is Tisha'ah B'av around here. Not something anyone can ever get over.

From an article in the New York Times:

"Mr. Browne said a woman who lives on the same block as Mr. Aron had told authorities that Mr. Aron had once approached her son; exactly when was not clear. Her son told her that Mr. Aron had tried to lure him into his car. She put the encounter out of her mind until she heard about the killing, Mr. Browne said."

I doubt that someone like him is capable of emotions such as guilt and shame.

Now why is it that always AFTER something has happened all the neighbours, friends, people who saw him in the street etc etc will always tell you he was a bit odd, or they saw something wasn't quite right, or they heard the (now dead) wife's screams every night etc etc, but BEFORE they never thought to say anything?

People who knew him admitted he was creepy but there are plenty of creepy people around, but that doesn't mean they would brutally murder and innocent boy! So they knew he was creepy before and what were they supposed to do about it??

I heard more distressing news on the radio today (Radio 710 around 5 pm).

The coroner could not determine the exact cause of death, whether the boy died from suffocation or not. The implication is that the Leiby may have been alive when the monster began to cut.
May Hashem avenge Leiby's blood.

I don't believe that. why would he suffocate him after he kills him like that?
and who wouldn't hear screams from someone doing that to them? neighbors down the street would hear that!

this whole thing is worse than any nightmare!! Crying or Very sad

I agree!! And all the rumors flying around about different versions of the story are freaking me out even more...we have no idea what this poor boy went through and what kind of suffering and torture he was put through....I can't deal with it!

Because, IMO, the pain of his murder is intolerable by all of us, but we want to have some comfort in hearing that Leiby did not at least suffer emotionally and physically under the hands of this killer.

The details of his horrible, tragic, unnecessary death HONESTLY DON'T MATTER - yes, Leiby hy'd suffered terribly, no matter in which specific way.

I think dwelling on the specifics is so not l'toelet of any kind.
