I know this might not be right but I'm so angry at Hashem. Why did he let a sweet innocent boy be hurt like that? Why did he take away a loved child from his parents? How does one go on in a crazy world, making children, working hard to raise them if we have no sense that they will be safe? That life will continue?

I'm so so sad. It is a sad day for Klall Yisroel that Hashem allowed this to happen. And all I can think of is, Why. Why, why, why, why.

I don't think there's anything unusual or even wrong about your feelings. Our feelings. You're not alone in this. The question is how we channel them.
It is, in Hashem's eyes, a thing of exquisite beauty when we unite as fiercely and passionately as we have. What's even more beautiful is when we can stay united and feel this love for another Jew* even when there's no great tzara uniting us.

* Let's leave aside the discussion of the intense pain and empathy we'd feel as mothers for any mother of any persuasion going through something like this.

BD"E
Another reason to expose & lock up molesters.
We must demand that these people are locked up.
Poor baby, poor family.
What a pity NY does not have a death penalty.

For those of you that understand yiddish Listen to Rabbi Klar's interview from Chai Lifeline's Crisis Intervention he explains how to talk to the kids.
call 212 444 1100 press 3 then 1

I like his point that parents should tell the kids that the whole klal yisroel is so shaken up because Hashem protects klal yisroel in a very special way & that is why this terrible story shook us up (stressing on the fact on how Hashem watches us).

BDE

I am in total disbelief that this has happened. I woke up this morning and raced to my computer to check, hoping it would say he had been found.

In my gut, I felt something bad had happened but I never, ever thought it would end like this. I am devasatated to read the horrifying truth. It's hard to even breathe and I cannot bear to read the details.

I didn't know this family, and I'm not even in NY but I was quietly davening that this little one should find his way home, and whatever the case would be, his family and Hashem would help him heal from his awful experience. But now, knowing the gut-wrenching truth? It feels like the bottom has fallen out.

Like Cultured Pearls said, from now on..these monsters MUST be reported to the authorities. Get them off the streets and away from our children!

Nothing feels the same now.

not geller. his name is aaron levy, a registered relations offender. apparently living in the community on a block with a bunch of kids. this is the face of a murderer: http://vidyid.com/mr-levi-aron.....venue.html

I can't think straight since I heard this news. I spent all morning hugging my children.

Well someone should go put Geller behind bars as well & every other sicko.
Letting them walk around in our communities?
We've only got ourselves to blame.

The person arrested is Aron Levy (or Levi Aron, I've seen it both ways). He looks like the man in the video. There was a car like the one in the video near his car. And reports are (please don't read further if squeamish) that the poor little boy's feet were found in his freezer.
