Balto Parent -to buy elementary school uniforms in Flatbush?

Hello, we're coming from Baltimore to shop in Flatbush this week. My daughter is starting kindergarten in Bais Yaakov Baltimore, and we need to know of a good place in Flatbush (cheapest) where we can buy uniforms. Also is it cheaper to buy uniforms in Flatbush than in Baltimore? This is my first time buying school uniforms so any advice would be very much appreciated!!! Thank you.

well it depends what her uniform is. Brooklyn stores might not even sell the uniform if a school in Brooklyn doesnt wear it. You need to be a bit more specific as to what her uniform is in terms of color in order for anyone to post advice

Get basic items from Beacon Hill Uniforms. They're cheaper than anybody in Brooklyn.

I'm looking for jumpers - I see the Baltiomre Bais Yaakov elementary school students have very cute checkered jumpers. That website www.beaconhill.com doesn't have checkered jumpers. Any ideas of where I could get one in Brooklyn or online?

Have you checked out the uniform gemach in Baltimore? Especially in the smaller sizes, you can often find jumper and they are only about $5 each - you won't get cheaper than that! I haven't heard of anyone buying the elementary uniforms in NY.

I have girls in BY Baltimore, and I teach in the elementary school. I'm sorry, you can't buy the jumpers anywhere else - they're custom made. The gmach is great though - call Sandra Friedman, she takes appointments, and she can sometimes tell you on the phone first if she thinks she has small size jumpers. Hatzlacha! (BTW, the jumpers are made really well - they lasted through my 4 girls and some of my friends' kids, too. The plaid is stronger than the blue)

you can't buy them elsewhere the shirts need to have the BY logo, try to find a friend whose children outgrew the uniform and get hand me downs or call the gemach.

If the shirts are a basic style, any uniform supplier can stamp or embroider the logo. It's a total myth that they have to be ordered through a single supplier.

I heard that Bnos Yisroel lets you buy any plain shirts of the right color and add a logo. It's very nice when schools accomodate parents who don't want to or can't spend those prices. Of course the gemach is great too.

Check out the goodwill on fallstaff for uniform jumpers for both bnos and by but be sure you know what they should look like exactly, so you don't get stuck not being able to use it.
