Anyone here who is on a gluten free diet, what do you do about shabbos?
Do you have oat matza?
Oat challah?
Or are you worried about cross contamination with oats?

Do you make a shehakol "mock challah", or just skip that course entirely?

If only some family members are gluten free, what do you do?

My oldest daughter is GF and washes on oat matza or rolls for shabbos and y"t (it's the only time she washes); the rest of us eat regular challah or matza. She never had GI symptoms even before she was diagnosed (just intestinal damage), and since her TTG levels are good despite the facts that she eats oat challah, matza, and lots of oatmeal, I'm not concerned about cross contamination of the oats.

I have 2 sons with Celiac...neither of them had symptoms, so I never know either if they suffer from cross contamination. In regard to oats, as long as you are buying products that are certified gf oats you should be ok, and as long as her test results are coming back ok, then the products you are giving her are fine.

My gastro told me to limit the oats to 1-2 times a week, as their levels are not at a negative yet. My boys like oatmeal, so most of the time they are eating bread that does not require hamotzi.

Just buy certified gluten free oat flour and make "rolls." Some celiacs find even this harder to digest however but that doesn't mean the oats have gluten. It has something to do with the complexity of the grain. I personally as a celiac would never buy regular oat flour but the certified stuff is fine, just expensive.

Ive purchased these and they're pretty good.

I am a diagnosed Celiac for the last 25 years. I have zero tolerance for even the most minute amount of gluten and therefore can not even tolerate the oats. For shabbos I always place GF rice cakes or corn thins oon the table and I give everyone the choice to chose what they wish. Sometimes I make a corn bread which is soft for about an hour after it comes out of the oven and then becomes like a rock!

I have several siblings, nephews and father who are gluten free and they buy gluten free rolls. My father bought me a gazzilion loafs of pesachdik'e gefilte fish to make for him and gluten free matzoh ball mix that is actually made out of potato starch (they were very yummy I must add) we make potato kugel and chicken and everything gluten free. On pesach my father had oat matzah and we crushed it up to make a gluten free matzoh ball. If you need any help feel free to PM me. I don't know a ton but I am learning.

P.S. Gefen cornflake crums don't have gluten in case you are looking for GF corn flake crumbs

Although you can be yotzei kiddush by being kovea seuda on wine (kiddush bimakom seuda) there is still an independent chiyuv of lechem mishna. One would assume that because of this chiyuv adults at least should make every effort to obtain gluten free bread for the two first meals.

Gluten free bread isn't halachically bread- its shehakol, not hamotzi.
