Seeking Full Time Housekeeper (Brooklyn, Midwood)

Seeking housekeeper to work full time from mid/late September, and part time in the summer.

Basic housekeeping, tidying up, cleaning, dishes after meals, some food preparation, mother's helper.
Job also involves occasional care for children, 3 years and 1 year. I am a stay at home mother.

Expecting 3rd baby in early October.

Summer hours: 1pm ~ 5 or 6pm
Fall hours: Long days required. Details to be discussed.

Live out position. In Midwood, close to Ocean Ave (B49), Ave I.
Compensation: $8-10 based on experience and performance

I hope you find someone, but I have to ask you: why would anyone who has a part-time housekeeper tell her about a fulltime job opening elsewhere? If the housekeeper then accepted your job, her current employer would be left in the lurch. What am I not understanding here?

I think OP meant to ask if anyone's housekeeper knows someone who is looking for work. That's how many people find their help- by getting referrals from employed women in the same field.

that's right mabelle, sorry I wasn't more clearer. Many ppl have full time help who have friends looking for jobs. I would never try to take someone's help from them, chas v'shalom!

Good question RR. And I was worried about a reply like Auntie's which is why I didn't say. I wish I spoke Spanish, but sadly, I don't. So at least a little English would be required.

yeah, isnt it lovely to be so politically correct? A mexican lady stopped me on the st and asked if I need cleaning help. I took her number, and I can give it to u if u want. She seemed to speak a basic english. I dont know her, but u can ask her if she has refernces. Let me know if u want her number and ill find it for u tomorrow iyh.

I never want to worry anyone, or upset them. I just wouldn't want to see anyone get in trouble for doing something they think is fine. If you placed such an ad (like Polish lady needed or something like that), you could get caught up in something nasty.

Thanks auntie. Don't worry about RR, I didn't get a nasty-at-auntie vibe from that post at all. And you're right, it's so important to be a good example in this area, and your point about these laws protecting Jews is poignant.

Anyway, if anyone else has more leads, please let me know. (Btw, do you think I'm paying fairly for around here?)
