I have this Braun and I absolutely love it. It has 5 stars and 83 reviews, read through them. It's a terrific machine!

The KitchenAid came out tops in tests; the Cuisinart is a close second. If you cook for a crowd, get one of the 14 cup models, but if you have a small family that may be overkill.
(I have a Magimix, because I moved here from the UK and already had all the extra parts--extra bowls and everything. I like it, but I don't think it's worth the extra money if you're buying from scratch--it was only worth it to me because of the cost of replacing everything I already had. If I hadn't had those, I would've gotten the 14 cup KitchenAid.)

I have the braun, Every person I know has the Braun. Every jewish housewares recommends the braun.
I bought the Le'quip for pesach. Its much cheaper. The housewares owner said its just like the braun, just smaller. I didn't have any complaints on it so far.

I still have to pay for that extra cost - about $30 more than the braun. _________________ Zogt Toras Emes, Toras Chaim, Horaah BaChaim: KER A VELT HEINT!

As for as I know they only sell the Braun in Jewish stores and amazon so it was not reviewed in Consumer Reports

You know, I thought it was included in the Cooks Illustrated tests (I prefer them to CR for kitchen electrics) but you're right, it wasn't in the latest test. I think I confused Braun with one of the other brands. I think I have seen it elsewhere but Braun has really cut down on their US consumer electrics. I used to have a Multiquick (the hand blender one, with the attachments), and I loved it, but they stopped selling them in the USA. If you go to the Braun USA webpage they don't even have a section for kitchen electrics anymore.
In fact, a reviewer wrote:
"Braun is no longer making food processors for the US market. They are no longer shipping replacement parts to their US service and repair centers. Even their 800 number told me that the service and repair centers cannot repair my K650. (My lid is stuck with the tab in the locking slot). Two of my local service centers told me that Braun isn't even offering a warranty on US-sold food processors. This item is as good as "Grey market". Do not buy this. It isn't worth the frustration. "
I would contact Braun before I bought this, because if you can't get replacement parts or repairs, it may not be a good purchase.
