My 3 yr old is having a lot of trouble falling asleep at night.
I've tried the basic things, calming her down before it's time to go to sleep. I stay in the room with her for 20 min. , the tape, the no tape on, books etc. She can lie in bed for more than 1 hr, without falling asleep.
Anything to do? Is there vitamins, or medicine that has worked?

Call your local pharmacy or your pediatrician and ask about Valarium. It's natural not a drug. Maybe in combination with st johns wort. YOu'd have to ask for anounts too. I haven't yet tried this but I was told about it.
Let us know how it works if and when you try it!

I have similar problem with my dd, almost 2 yo.
However I am not looking for vitamins to give her.
Should I be concerned if I put her to bed at 6pm, when she is clearly very tired, but she only falls asleep about 2 hours later?

Maybe the child gets distracted by outside noises? Did you try a noise machine or a fan that drowns out most of the usual sounds?

does she still take naps? when my dd took naps, even short ones during the day it would keep her up at night. so I got rid of them. she's exhausted during the day , but she's out within 5 minutes when she goes to sleep at night!
