I HATE CLEANING and am overwhelmed :(

I am bh 8 months pregnant. I hate cleaning my house!!!!!!!!! I am usually tired because my 1 year old wakes up by 6am. (today was 5am so I'm even crabbier). So I'm a cranky, crabby mother WITH a dirty house! I haven't mopped the floor since erev shabbos. the dishes are stacked up. I am in a bad mood. my husband sleeps in every morning since he has stomach issues. I don't have cleaning help.
I usually take a morning nap, but the kids are home by 1 so I don't have much time to clean between 12 and 1. I plan on putting my baby in a daycare this week. I am in middle of looking for one.
I am still on pesach rebound, since I did most of the cleaning myself.

I guess I'm just venting, but I don't know what to do anymore!!!

I'm sure the heat doesn't help anything either. I don't know if you want advice, but you should try to cut back wherever possible. if you can't afford cleaning or babysitting help, then just do less. start using paper goods until after the baby. they're pretty cheap. then your sink will never be full. cook simpler meals, maybe put away some of the toys that make the most messes. would you consider putting your kids in front of a movie so you can rest?

Can you afford a couple of hours of cleaning help? How about asking a neighbor or a couple of neighbors to share a lady for 1 or 2 hours each, and just let her do the most important things or a quick general tidy up - or ask one of your neighbors if they have a lady that you can use for after she is finished at their homes. Women are usually very secretive and territorial about their cleaning help, they are afraid they will lose her to you, so make it clear that you would never steal her away from them. Good luck.
I too hate cleaning and when my kids were young I went out to work to make just enough money to pay for cleaning help. I tell myself that noone dies thinking that she should have washed one more floor, or one more pot, but people sometimes have regrets about not spending more time with the kids etc. I prefer to spend my time with family and friends and not the ironing board or mop.

I know the feeling.. when my husband was alive, it would take him a while to get the message about cleaning the house.. I am the cleaning lady.. I get everyone else's dishes done... I clean everyone else's house ... except mine. I've got dishes piled in my sink- laundry that needs to be put away, laundry that needs get hung up... laundry I need to do... god only knows when my floors have been cleaned - I am the cleaning lady, and I myself need one! however, I will say, you need to find some how of getting some help! when I was 8mos preggers, my husband was out working, and wanted me to clean the house- I could barely move.. and I had to freeze all my cleaning jobs as I couldn't clean any longer! take on a 12yr old girl, maybe who's willing to be a mother's helper... even if it's just to fold and put away laundry...

I hate cleaning too, but just picture how good you will feel when its done Very Happy

I have a heter to listen to music because thats the only way I get happily moving around the house.... or put on a shiur and tackle each thing as a small mountain of its own. The most I accomplish is when I dont get scattered and do 100 things at once. Its tough with a baby and going to the bathroom all the time and when someone knocks for sugar or paprika every 5 minutes Rolling Eyes

so do the dishes and reward yoruself when you're done with a nice desert or a rest with your feet up ! Also I would recommend books by miriam adahan, particularly for your case the first chapters of "Raising children to care" (It talks about the transition from before married with kids to after)

I ALSO hate cleaning and can sympathize with how you feel! I often fantasize about what I would do with endless $$$ if I had it, and giving cleaning lady gift certificates to overwhelmed moms goes high on my list.

I generally do offer a merry maids gift certificate or similar when relatives have a baby, are in the hospital, or when it's a "big" event in their life--and so far, ZIPPO have taken me up on it. unbelievable!

I completely understand you and im not pregnant!!

Get dh on board and ask for his help, whichever way- pay for cleaning lady, find someone to help at home, help himself...
