I've always thought that Immanuel works at those sort of times. Kind of like 'G-d is with us' by bringing this child to us and bringing comfort in a sad time but it depends on if you want something more obvious.

Mendel is the Yiddish version of Menachem. Both meaning comfort.

But Shalev is the boy version of Shalva. It means peaceful or calm, I guess.
