My 6 year old will doodle and color on anything in his sight. He will doodle all over his pajamas with pen, on the linens, floors, walls and everywhere else. He uses crayons as well. I can hide everything but I think it's insane to need to do that with a 6 year old that understands. Please tell me what I cando to change this. I'm at my wits end.

Also, does anyone know how to take pen off a velour pj?

Well, what happens when he does this - besides your having a freak attack? Make sure he has enough to do with his time, allowing for some down time, make sure he has access to paper when doodling is appropriate, and make sure there are consequences for when he doodles on things he shouldn't doodle on.

Excuse me Kayze but I'm not sure where you read that I have a freak attack!?

He has enough activities lined up, has access to paper and will color on his clothing or walls WITH the paper in front of him. I tried consecequences but they don't help at all.

My point was not that you are having a freak attack (although it's good that you are not). What is important is what happens to HIM.

Consequences frequently don't help overnight. Also, you need to find the right consequences. It has to be something that either does something to mitigate the damage or that he is not going to like - or preferably both. And you have to be totally consistent about it - EVERY time he doodles on something other than paper, there is a consequence. No discussion, no second chances, nothing.
