Plastic tablecloth cover

How can I clean a plastic tablecloth cover? I cover the white shabbos tablecloth but the plastic cover is sooo dirty! Obviously I wash it every week after Shabbos with spray cleaner but that doesn't seem to do a good enough job. Any other ideas? Can I put it in the washing machine or dishwasher? What setting?

Are you talking about the hard plastic tablecloth? Why not just cover the hard plastic with a disposable tablecloth and throw it away after shabbos? This way the hard plastic doesn't get dirty.

We use a vinegar spray (half vinegar and half water) and it comes out fine. If it is still a little greasy, we use fantastic.

eventually it will discolor just from age and exposure, at which time it's time to get a new one and convert the old one to a drop cloth for messy arts and crafts projects or a ground cover for picnics.

word to the wise: dont put it into the washing machine!!! I did that and I got a bunch of holes in mine I needed to get a new one!

Was just coming back here to say I put it in the washing machine and it seemed to work fine! Smile

Except its very wrinkled, but when I spread it out on the table it seemed ok. I put it on a regular cycle, I think with hot water, if I remember correctly, and washed it by itself then hung to dry.

Depending on where you live , almost any hardware store should sell them. Also, any place that sells party goods/ other types of plastic tablecloths should have.

I get the best quality, heavy duty one once a year for Pesach, but it really should be replaced more often than that.

If you put it in the washer, use at least warm (if not hot) water for the wash and rinse cycles. The cold rinse can crack the plastic. Also use a gentle cycle not the regular agitation.
