I posted a while back looking for a name idea for the baby I am pregnant with. After much thought I decided that the perfect way to describe my feelings about the baby girl in my belly is by giving her a name that says she was my light.
I thought of 2 names - Orly and Leora.
DH and I happen to really like the name Tamar and I think we may just be using this as a second name. I won't make that decision till I see the baby IY"H.
Any opinions about the difference between the names Orly and Leora (in terms of meaning and also how it sounds after Tamar)?
Thanks so much.

I have heard that leora and orly are not good names, b/c they are self-centered, and not torah- or HKBH-centered

other options would include ora and eliora, and other light-names, such as shalhevet (small flame), meira, ziva, zohara, etc.

Tamar Leora flows nicely.
I like Meira for a girl, and I've also heard of Orel for a girl.

Thanks so much everyone!
Eliora sounds very pretty but what is the meaning exactly and how does it differ in meaning to Leora?

Or, Orelia/Aurelia, Orli/Aurelie, Oriel, Oriella, Uriel, Uriella, Nerli, Uri, Shraga, Shragai, Ziv, Zohar.

Only Hebrew? Only light or also close ideas like sun?

I think Leora is my light, Eliora is G-d's light, Light of G-d etc

I really like the name Leora. That said, my DD was born 18 Adar and we gave her the middle name Naora. Not officially a name, but it means enlightened. We used "or" as our inspiration and took to the dictionary.

B'sha'ah tovah.
