We just moved into a house and we are looking to get a new dishwasher for it. Any recommendations of models or at least important things to look for? Thanks so much!

Look at were the cutlery holder goes. Mine is on the door - which I find a pain - if I overfill it - which is every shabbos it opens up and makes a huge mess. You also can't fill the cutlery when the drawer is pulled out when it is mounted on the door because it lies flat under the drawer. I've figure out how to mount it on the bottom drawer. But still if tall pieces of cutlery are near the detergent dispenser it can't open fully. I think it would be better if it was just part of the bottom drawer.

[Not that I'm complaining - I LOVE my dishwasher]

I got a Bosch dishwasher and I'm very happy with it.
The features I love about it; very quiet operation, water & energy saver, it can also do a half load cycle, delicate cycle, power scrub cycle & more. It's easy to load/unload and comes with a 5 yr. warranty.

I use the cutlery on the door container for knives, peelers, and measuring spoons. I got a wire sort of cutlery container (okay four of them) at BBB for around $2 each which I situate in the bottom of the machine for real cutlery. We usually only fill one of them because by then, the dishwasher is full enough to run.

FTR, I think you should buy a simple machine. You don't really need a wash and hold, pots cycle or glasses cycle or plastic container cycle. You just need it to wash !
