my 4 yr old son has a hard time staying dry. he will be dry at school where they have regular bathroom breaks but at home he is wet a lot! daily! usually just a spot but lately more than that. he says he doesn't feel the sensation to go. other times he says he was too busy playing. I'm not sure which of these options it is! is it possible he really doesn't feel when he needs to go? is there a medical condition like this?? (on the other hand he constantly asks to go to the bathroom in public, I'm wondering if its bec he really doesn't feel it but he is afraid he will have an accident in public so he makes sure to go often)

I've tried incentives
I've tried reminders, when I says to go to the bathroom he says he doesn't have to, if I convince him to try he almost always can go. I'm jsut not sure if he really didn't feel like he needed to go or if he was too busy playing to want to go?!

Can't help you, but I can commiserate. My 4.5 year old DD has the same issue, and she also hates public bathrooms, so gives me a hard time when we are out. I just have to remind her to go at home. I'm thinking of taking her to a urologist, but I think her issue is that she just doesn't mind being wet, and is too busy to go to the bathroom. I'm just hoping she'll grow out of it real soon. If you find something that works for you, please let me know!!!
