Stupid Mistake!!!

I have a Braun food processor that works super duper well. Last week, I dropped the lid and the little piece that fits into the bowl cracked off. Now, the food processor won't start without it. Unfortunately, this has been discontinued, and there are no replacement lids for this model available. Need to throw out an otherwise perfectly working machine!

What is your recommendation for a really good food processor?

since you were so happy with the Braun, why don't you just get another one? I also have one that I'm very happy with.

I think the braun is the best. I have a different brand for passover (cant remember the name) and I hate it. I think I would stick to the braun.

Can you check in the stores? that is what I did when mine broke the same way a year or two ago

Google replacement parts for Braun food processor and put in the model number. There are places on line that sell replacement pieces.

I have the same problem, a part of the bowl just broke and there is no replacement to be found (spent hours on internet to no avail). I thought of looking around for someone who would have a spare bowl, like if they machine broke or something. But those machines are really heavy duty, and the only part that tends to break is the bowl!!!! So guess will have to buy a new one, this time I'll get a second bowl too.

Before you throw out a perfectly good machine, google for the parts online. There definitely are parts to be found. I myslef bought extra parts a while ago and still have a brand new bowl sitting in my cabinet.

My food processor lid is also missing that piece. We wedged the handle of a small plastic spoon into the slot and it works fine. If you can't find a replacement lid, see if you can find something else to fit into the slot so the food processor will work.

Sometimes Duddy's electronics has old replacement parts. Definately call them first.

Ebay, or yard/gar. sales in newspapers. Sometimes you can get the whole machine for ten dollars or less and then just use the part you need...

If you can't find a replacement part, look at the Braun or Kitchen Aid (They make excellent food processors.)

I had that with my kenwood food processor. so annoying. I replaced it with another kenwood, different model, and it is terrible. Works really badly. Not getting kenwood ever again.

would there be a kashrus problem in getting a replacement lid? (in my case it was a small peice of the lid that fell off)
