Shavua Tov!

I made the oatmeal cookies in last week's (Vayechi) Family First. They were delicious. However I've lost the recipe. Doe anyone have the recipe to share?

TIA

Sharon

I make the recipe on the quaker oats box. Heavenly!!

I even make it with ww flour and subsitute marg for oil. If you do that just bake for longer to have that crunch.

I don't think the recipe was particularly unusual - I just really like it ... then threw it away Sad

You could try e-mailing the magazine and asking for it.

Ok.... I found the recipe!
Here it is:

1/2 cup light brown sugar
1 stick margarine or butter (110 grams)
1/2 cup honey
2 cups quick-cooking oats
1/2 cup oil
1 cup whole wheat flour
1 cup all purpose flour
1 1/2 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp salt
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 tsp ground ginger
1/8 tsp ground nutmeg
2 tsp molasses
1 tsp pure vanilla extract
1/2 cup raisins or chocolate chips

1. Preheat oven to 350 F (180 C).
2. In the bowl of electric mixer, cream butter/margarne with brown sugar.
3. Add all remaining ingredients except raisins/c. chips, and mix on medium speed until combined.
4. Add raisins and mix by hand until evenly combined.
5. On cookie sheet lined with parchment paper, use a mini ice cream scooper or spoon to shape walnut-sized balls.
6. Flatten gently with your fingertips.
7. Bake 12-14 minutes. Move to wire rack to cool.

Enjoy!!!

Just wondering, will the cookies turn out ok if I leave out the molasses? I don't even know where to get it in E"Y.

You probably need it for the texture. You could substitute corn syrup or honey -- texture should be okay, but flavor would be some what different.

Thank you so much for finding the recipe!

I made the cookies without the molasses and they were yummy!

Just a thought- if you're in E'Y and can't find molasses, try Silan (date honey) most groceries have it and it looks like molasses, has the same texture and color, a different taste but it's probably better for you than corn syrup and a less intense flavor than honey. Plus its cheaper.
