Bugaboo Bee

Hi, I just received the bugaboo bee as a gift and was wondering if anyone uses on a newborn baby (mine is 4 months) WITHOUT the cocoon (soft bassinet)? I read that if I lay carriage flat than I can use it without it but just wondering if anyone here has any experience with it.

I've used it with my baby since she was born with the kiddapotumus insert thingy but dorsure by 4 months (now she is 5 and a half months) it was good just to lay her in ther flat plain I even sat her up sometimes by the time she was 4 months old she likes the view!
