I remember when my mom had a baby!!!!!. believe it or not it was about 8 years ago I was still living at home and one of moms friends brought dinner I still remember how yum and how plentiful!!!!!! 8 years ago!!!!!
she brought a plastic ocontainerwith soup. a pan of breaded fried shnitzel, a 9x13 pan of rice and a huge salad. she even made brownies to go with that!!!!!
look how long it was remembered!!!!
well another great dish is a big chicken stir fry. stir a bunch of veggies with soy sauce, ginger, garlic add the chicken. if you want you can cook angel hair pasta and mix that in or you can make rice....
dont forget SALAD AND SOUP that is the best part of the meal!!!!
so many easy and yum soups.... especially after given birth - the best!!!
g 'luck

Friends of ours are moving away, so I called the Mother to ask how we can help, and she said a meal the night before would be the best help she can get.
So, I'm deff. gonna read thru this thread again before Monday for all your great Ideas.
(It's for 2 adults + six kids)
Thanks everyone!!!

Making a meal for a couple is different than making for a large family with lots of kids. Every kid likes something different, and who knows, pasta might be the one thign they actually eat!
I remember when my mother was sitting shiva out of town someone sent us spaghetti and meatballs in two sep pans...the meatballs went to whoever wanted, and the spaghetti to whoever wanted (not everyone in my family likes both) and it worked out well.
I say give a few thigns that can be mixed but send them separately -- it should = a well-balanced meal, but will still be enough to fend off finciky eaters.

Bluma -
That sounds really good.
Do you just layer the Lasagna noodles with sauce and ground beef?
or is the beef already in the sauce?
Do you add anything else?
I usually make a Dairy Lasagna, with spinach and tons of cheese...
But a Fleishig one sounds yummy!!!

| When I had my baby I wanted healthy nourishing meals with lots and lots of veggies, salads and soups. I just couldn't handle all the starchy oily foods.
