I ran out of regular sugar can I make cheese cake and/or brownies with brown sugar instead?

| Certainly. It may taste slightly different, though only the most sensitive palates will notice, and in the case of cheesecake it may be slightly caramel-colored depending on how much sugar you use, but sugar is sugar. Just be sure to pack the sugar firmly into the measuring cup.
