| I was offered this job and I went to culinary school and was a private chef out of my house but I've never really had any experience cooking for large (250) amounts of people. I'm sure the yeshiva has who they order from im a little concerned how I will fare.

| most kosher companies distribute to large schools in bulk. some even prepare their items to your needs. inquire with them.

I worked in a yeshiva kitchen when I got married after knowing catering from my parents. It really wasn't the same kind of food. Nothing special or gourmet. No fancy ingredients. Lots of soup mix. We did the main meal (lunch) for 230 boys if I remember correctly. A main, side, and salad basically. We also did Shabbos food. They had huge ovens and huge pots which is harder to get used to than whatever you used in a private residential kitchen.
You can do it but it is an adjustment. Depends on their budget as well. The yeshiva I worked at really wanted their buchorim to eat well and they bought decent supplies. If you are working with less, it will be harder to create a lot out of a little. Will you have a few helpers for peeling, dicing, washing dishes, shopping for supplies, etc? Also, I wasn't paid much but it was a job, when I didn't speak the language here yet. I can only speak for Israel as I didn't do this in America.
