I'm interested in this line of work but don't really know how to get started. I am looking for some practical advice.

I'm not the original "amother." However, I would like to return to writing again. Part-time teaching does not make ends meet.

Please PM me if anyone has leads. I particularly like work that involves research.

Most of the popular family magazines are always looking for writers. You can freelance initially and submit when and where you can and you just might land a job somewhere.
BTW, I publish a magazine on Down syndrome.

I work for a very chareidi newspaper.

if u can write articles directed at women in this target group for the womens' interest pages its possible my editor could use them.

if u are a newswriter you could send us news stories of interest to the charedi community, eg, "new mikva in ...." "Rabbi so and so visits ...."
