Based on the assorted threads I've read here on Imamother I would like to officially proclaim all the reasons why you might not want to allow a shidduch between your children and my children. This will save all of you time in the future from having to investigate.

- I'm Lubavitch (ah, yes, let's get the big guns out RIGHT NOW)
- I'm a BT, making my kids SOBs and DOBs
- I'm divorced (and remarried)
- I go to work
- I have a Jewish babysitter and I leave my children with her
- My children don't learn solely in Yiddish
- I use paper plates on shabbos (sometimes)
- I have a lot of guests (sometimes)
- I don't have any guests (sometimes)
- Sometimes we eat in the kitchen on Shabbos
- Sometimes I serve hot dogs and french fries on Friday night (but only for our family)
- I do a lot of chessed, but getting out to every simcha I'm invited to is nearly impossible
- Sometimes I, GASP!, have to say no to chessed requests
- I have a cleaning lady AND a therapist
- I don't shave my legs except one a year when I get in the mood
- My current husband wears white shirts and colored shirts and sometimes, gasp!, sweatpants
- My ex-husband, well who cares what he wears? He's not Jewish anymore so do I really need to explain?
- OMG, in case you didn't NOTICE, I'm FAT! And I'm a dumpy dresser. I also don't have an expensive sheitel - tuition is more important to me. I haven't owned a "designer anything" intentionally in my entire life.
- I don't pay full tuition, it might not be a lot but I do pay it on time every two weeks, like clockwork.
- Being real is more important to me than impressing others with how things "look"
- My father is dead, my mother is estranged from me and I have no yichus.
- Oh and did I mention that my brother is married to a non-Jew?
- I also have no money (except when it comes to chessed, then I always find a way), so don't expect me to finance two years of kollel
- I don't plan on paying for more than 1 year of in-town seminary tuition. If my kid wants to go to Israel for sem or go to college she'll have to figure out how to pay for it herself.

I'm sure I can think of many many more reasons why you should not be interested in my children. The Yiddishkeit, Yiras Hashem, Ahavas Hashem, Ahavas Yisroel and Middos of my children certainly aren't any of them.
[/sarcasm]

At least you have a Jewish babysitter and not a "[gentile woman]". Or whatever people call non-Jewish women.

When you shave your one leg a year, is it at least the right leg? Or do you alternate? Laughing

Did I mention that I *attempt* to speak to my cleaning lady in her native language out of respect?

I try to alternate - one leg before Pesach, one leg before Tishrei Wink

SIGH...

Such a long complicated story that I won't go into here, but suffice to say he became a muslim shortly after I remarried. If you want to PM me you can.

Becoming a Muslim is a stupid choice and an aveira - but he is still Jewish.

I forgot to add to my list above, for those of you who were keeping notice when I was in my first marriage and I was seeing a RE, both my children were "accidents" when we were officially on a break from treatment, so you can rest assured they are not IUI, IVF, GIFT, ZIFT, or any other acronym. Sorry I don't have documentation for that.

Also I gave birth to both children in Maimonides Hospital first kid with an epidural, second kid with Demerol, and with a midwife. They were NOT home-birthed in a water tub while chanting to a picture of the rebbe or any other gadol.

Also, I gave my kids breastmilk and formula (I know I'm going to hell for that one). Definitely they won't be able to get a shidduch. Razz

Just don't mix the human milk with fomula.

I'm getting in the mood for hot dogs and fries for a snack before Shabbos.

Who cares about all that? The main thing is, what color tablecloth do you put on your shabbos table (kitchen or elsewhere)?

I don't know anyone who did that. I gave birth at home, in water, and the only chanting I was doing was, "Hashem please help me to get this baby out NOW."

I like your post though.

I PM'ed you, but the short and sweet answer here is when I asked a Rov a shaila about this, the Rov basically put his fingers in his ears and (I'm REALLY paraphrasing here) said, "LALALALALALA I CAN'T HEAR YOU! I CAN'T HEAR WHAT YOU'RE SAYING!"

Do you know how much my kids LOVE it when we do hot dogs for shabbos? Shabbos seudah is supposed to have ONEG and my kids definitely get ONEG from it. And I get ONEG because it doesn't involve any work. Smile
