I mean, for those who buy them...
Starting at what age can you give your baby real food?
As long as she takes the pureed food, give her?

| I stopped buying the jars at around 12-13 months. At this age, DS was also refusing to eat the jars. He became MUCH more interested in everything that we were eating.

I stop giving the purees when my kids are eating what we're eating, not by age. _________________ Emmanuel Tzvi: 26 Shevat 5766

When I've used it at all, it was for babies 5 - 9 months. _________________ "Often the things you worry about don't happen but other stuff does."

Babies can eat soft chunks of food from age six months or so. In the beginning I mashed with a fork, but only until they got used to swallowing. I (almost) never bought baby food, nor pureed it.

| I don't buy, but I can tell you my baby has been eating a version of what the family eats for a couple of months. He's 11 months old now, kah. So I would say by 10 months old you could stop.

It depends on the baby. My oldest ate jars well past 12 months (probably till 14 - 15 months or so) she would have continued but I stooped buying them.
My second enjoyed it for about two months by eight months he was making faces at it and by nine months he out right refused anything that wasn't real food.
My dh likes jarred baby food (only the fruit ones) and he and my oldest had a blast finishing all the jars we had in the house

| heck, my kids would still be eating it if I still bought it! they are 5 and 3! They love baby food and for a while I kept buying it b/c they ate their veggies without a problem, but it got really expensive so I stopped buying it. as someone else already said, I don't think it goes by age, I think it goes by how well your child can chew and how many teeth he has. If he can swallow and chew his food well then you can start him on real pple food that is soft enough for him.

Why not puree veggies for them? Its really easy and gets more nutrients in. _________________ Never mistake activity for achievement.

She can take real food from when she starts solids, no? It doesn't even need to be pureed when my kids start themselves on solids, at around 8 months...mashed a bit, yes, but texture is good for them at that point. _________________ http://a-natural-birth.com
