Ruchel is right on the money. Sure, it's not Jewish custom to do so, and the symbolism can be troubling, but making up ridiculous (and inaccurate) stories about how this is related to The Cross and that is related to paganism ... it's not convincing, and it comes across as really ignorant and provincial.
