Same here. I've started using real pans - and I think I'm saving some money.

We also toivel Plastic that we use more then once (unless its really really only meant to be used once like cheap plastic cutlery or cups). Now that stinks. Imagine you want to use those cheap plastic soup containers a few times until they break, or ziplock containers, or reuse the pickle container, or your crouton container for beans. All of those have to be toiveled. That is the worst.

I never heard of toveling plastic.

I know - neither did I until I got married. I'm not sure if it is a yekki minhag - or from somewhere else.

There are those who hold that plastic falls under the same guidelines as metal and earthenware/glass, and therefore requires tevila.
