As for me- I know that many of my deeper expectations of myself are unrealistic (don't we all want to be SuperWoman?) and as such aren't being met (duh!). I am more of a perfectionist by nature, even though I know (cognitively!) that those tendencies are destructive. I am working at slowly changing those expectations, and BH doing quite well.

No. I'm in a very difficult situation in one part of my life, and while my rational mind tells me what to do to fix it, my emotional part holds me back alittle. I am close to overcomng that I hope. _________________

| no not a chance. im very critical of my skills as a housewife, and as hard as I try, im upset that I couldnt accomplish more. so, from that aspect, I dont think I will ever live up to my expectations for myself... unless I really work on changing my atitude...

could not agree more Gold! Its all in the attitude!!
I felt like I was failing as a mother all the time. ARe my kids happy, am I a happy mom? Am I giving them enough experiences in life in this age of Gymnastics+soccor +music classes etc stimulation. Am I paying them enough attention. Do they have enough friends etc.
And then I realized one day that before bedtime as I was reenacting one of their favorite movies with them and singing . THey were laughing there heads off and having a blast! These are my kids! They enjoy the music I listen too and the movies that I watched as a child and the stories I tell. ( though this will change with age im sure) Stop sweating it and enjoy these moments! Its the relationships we have in life with our loved ones that are the most important! _________________ "Always be a first rate version of yourself, instead of a second rate version of somebody else" Judy Garland

I'm far from perfect but yes, I am happy with what I do. I don't see why I should be hard on myself. _________________

No. My kids love me and I have a great relationship with them but sometimes I tell myself that's because they don't know any better. I can be a perfectionist sometimes and have to remind myself when it comes to my family that it's ok to fail, ok to make mistakes, and ok to be human. I wish I had more patience. I think I'm better than I used to be but it's so hard!!! I think by the time I'm a little old lady I'll be a really nice lady, I'm looking forward to it! _________________ Let your fellow's honor be as dear to you as your own and do not anger easily (Pirkei Avos/t)

No.
The house can always be cleaner.
I can always be a better mother.
I can always be more spiritual than I am.
I can always be a better spouse.
Oh well, that's life & that's why where here, to keep on working....until we drop dead. (literally)

I do disappoint myself very often, but I've also learned to forgive myself for my mistakes. I keep on telling myself that I'm not meant to be perfect, I'm just meant to perfect myself as much as I can. I'm not a finished project, just a work in progress, and I still have the rest of my life ahead of me to work on it. _________________ hadasa. One 'h', one 's'.

Your post made me think something (NOT that this what you project, in any way, please don't take it that way) that while life means not being static and improving (which is what you DID say, quite well) we'd better not get too hyped out about our inadequacies or imperfections or we may pass it on to our kids.
Apropos to I'm not sure what over the last few years there's been an interesting change in Good Housekeeping, a column called Good Enough Housekeeping. Talk about signs of the times...
