| |
| Does anyone know of brands (obtainable in the USA) of vitamins that are kosher for pesach? I'm specifically looking for calcium and B complex, but will take a multi-vitamin if necessary. When I called Freeda in past years, they said no.

| I was always told that Freeda is not kosher for Pesach, BUT they do not contain any chometz. you should ask your Rav what to do.

| none of the vitamins are certified kosher for pesach. (some herbs are certifed kosher for passover)most vitamins are chometz free but contain kitnios. it is best that you skip your vitamins for 8 days. if you feel you need to take them for a medical reason, you should speak to ur rav

| Calcium can be from inorganic source (think chalk...) but Vit B complex would be definitely problematic as it is grain- and/or yeast-derived. Ask your Dr/LOR, but you may just want to get them from regular foods (dairy products and fish with bones for calcium, meat for VB)

| OP here - what about vitamins from Israel? Maybe I should post to an Israel-related forum. There is definitely the option to skip for the 8 days, but if I could find something kosher for Pesach, that would be great. The vitamins are for my daughter who is on a restricted diet, so she can't enough B's or calcium from direct food intake. But again, 8 days without is still totally okay.
