My son went back to work full time so the Sunday groc shopping for the week became my job, at least today ... and since I wasn't in a hurry ANd I was hungry, so I looked around ... and a green jar of pesto caught my eye.

Just wondering if it would be good on gef fish - and if so, would I bake it on top of the loaf or serve it on boiled slices ?

Thanks

Pesto is good on just about any savory dish. I say just heap it onto a slice of boiled gefilte fish, and enjoy it.

I would actually just serve it as a dip with challah...

or you can mix it in with pasta...

if you want, I have a great pesto recipe from KBD short on time

It doesn't go well with everything actually. My personal favorite is a pesto panini which is made with pesto, cheese (not american), sliced tomatoes. Put it all together until the bread is crispy and it's delicious! If you don't have a panini maker you can just toast it but it's much better in the panini maker.

chocolate mousse - go for it! let us know!

I would swirl some pesto around my soup bowl or spread it on fish, roll it up and bake it.

I would also spread it on chicken cutlets as well....

Mini puff pastry squares. Spoon a bit on & a square of fresh salmon. Pull the corners in to the middle, brush with egg & bake. I think I posted this once. They are yum!

Doesn't pesto contain cheese? If no-cheese version, it should be fine with either fried/baked/boiled gef fish. We like experiementing--chutney, wasabi, harissa, ketchup, all go nicely with gef fish. The only one that didn't work was hilbe, grainy mustard and apple sauce.
