What brand of immersion blender do you have?
Is it worth it to spend more? Do you have the accessories?
I recently burnt the motor of my 5 yr old Braun immersion blender. I use it ALL the time. I also use the attachments fairly often. I was hoping to just buy a new braun and plug in my old pieces but I can't find it sold anywhere. (I loved the Braun immersion blenders on the page ra_mom linked on another topic, but I can't find them sold on any website)
So I'm looking for another brand to buy. I saw on Amazon some brands I've never heard of that are priced pretty low, compared to the kitchen aid, and the reviews are good, but I'm scared to buy it. Has anyone heard anything about those.
Or do you know where I can buy a Braun?
Thanks.

I have this one
http://www.amazon.com/Cuisinar.....amp;sr=8-2
I love it! It has served me well for over a year. It also has good accessories that come with it. You can find the Cuisinart ones cheaper if you get only the blender pieces and not the extras.

sky, Braun discontinued their immersion blenders If the electronic part of your hand blender still works, you can prob still buy replacement parts. But if not, the only ones to be found are over $200.
I did some searching on that combo machine we spoke about, and it looks like that one is discontinued as well
Cuisinart makes the next best immersion blender. Hard to find them on sale, but they are great! _________________ Really Awesome Mom!

I read the reviews for the Cuisinart and it sounds like a lot of people complained about the attachments not locking after some use.
I'm wondering if it is worth it to spend the money on the more expensive kitchen aid...but there is no way to know if it will last longer.
Does anyone else have either of these?

I bought my cuisinart about 6 months ago because my other one broke. I got all the extra attachments not planning on using them, only because they came with it. Suprisingly I have used some of the pieces - especially the mini chopper/food processor and I haven't had any problems with them locking. I've only had it for 6 months though.
Depending on where you live you should buy it in a store that has a good return policy, that way if it breaks after a few months you can return it. I think costco, walmart, target etc. are very good if things break in a normal amount of time.

They stopped making Braun? That's so sad. . . I love my Braun and use it and all the attachments constantly. On my wedding registry I registered for 2, and it shows that both were fulfilled, but I only received one. I guess someone decided to keep it

And I got 2 and returned 1 for cash at BB&B. But now I want it back...
