Anyone ever take their little babies into the shower with them?
I just did with my 6 week old DS and really enjoyed it. He slept through most of it.... totally my kid. I found it much easier to clean in between his 'rolls' and did not feel scared that he was too slippery to hold onto. I want to try it again sometime when he's in a playful mood to see how he feels about it!

I would never have done such a thing. A baby is very slippery and you're vulnerable since you're not dressed. _________________ Married 23 plus years but still in Shana Rishona.

Don't you shower in warmer water than you would bathe your baby in? And how do you wash your hair?

| Are you washing yourself or the baby? Bath time is your own time, imo.

| I stripped the baby down to his diaper and put him in a bouncy seat on the bathroom floor. I showered, washed my hair and body, and then picked him up, de-diapered him, and washed him. I found it totally relaxing.

| It won't last forever. when he crawls and moves around, that'll be dangerous.

I used to do all the time with my first two kids. Now, I just need my two minutes of peace in there so I can shut out the chaos and escape! LOL
I should try it again, though. I bet my 3 M.O. baby would love it. _________________ I have bursts of being a lady, but it doesn't last long.

| BTW, if your hubby is around, you can forget the bouncy seat and just hand the baby off after you've bathed him/her and finish up your own shower solo.

| I used to do this all the time, especially when my babies had colds and needed the steam. I generally ran a very hot shower to generate the steam, and then I turned down the actual temperature before we got in. CM makes a good point about how slippery babies are when wet. I do remember having to be very, very careful.

I've tried it but using a water sling. I am way too nervous to hold a wet, slippery, naked baby in the shower. My babies so far did not enjoy the shower experience. I'm glad you and yours enjoyed it! _________________ All I claim to be is inspired, not inspiring.

How do your friends know what temperature you shower at, are they in there with you??
When DD1 was about 10 months old I took her for mommy-and-me swimming lessons and she used to love showering with me afterwards...definitely less slippery when wearing a bathing suit though. _________________ DD1: July 2, 2001

Recently I had to wash before I make a hefsek Tahara, and my DD (11months) wouldn't let me out of her site, so I took her in the bath with me while I showered (bath with shower, not shower cubicle). She was quite happy splashing on the far side of the bath while I was busy.
She's used to the shower cos I used it at the end of bathtime to rinse the kids off before taking them out the bathtub. But she still didn't like to come right near the shower spray because the water went in her eyes.
I have once done bath with my DS when he was less than a year old, but my DH was at home so after he took baby and could finish off my own bath/shower without baby. Didn't really enjoy it so haven't done again with any of the other kids.

I cannot envision a way to do this and feel safe. Same as I am challenged in understanding how to sleep with babies in the same bed. But I have used an Arm's Reach cosleeper and loved it. _________________ "...swung out toward the other bank with a kind of wild exhilaration and landed gently on his feet, taller and stronger and wiser in that mysterious land."

I used to shower with DS sometimes. He loved it, and when it was my turn, I just put him into his infant tub and let him splash around in there. I never felt he was too slippery, and we had a great time. He's way to wiggly now, so I would be worried about being slippery, but when we're on a vacation and don't have the infant tub, I'll sometimes get into the bath with him so it's safer. Still a lot of fun for us both

such memories ... I used to do this in the tub however and the babies love it ... I get to relax ... even nurse them and clean them and then mommy & baby are both happy ...
tried the shower but babies are too slippery when wet ... had to call in the guard to retrieve the baby ...
as for the jcc and after swimming showers, everyone got in one shower and had fun while singing and getting clean ... (the acoustics are great ) _________________ don't wonder why people go crazy ... rather wonder why we don't
