What does that mean that U of P is a scam??? I know someone doing a MA program right now?

Work backwards- where do you want to go for graduate school, and see from which colleges they accept the under-grad degree.

Maybe CUNY?

I did University of Phoenix for two blocks before changing to SUNY.

SUNY is State University of New York, they offer many degrees online. They use different campuses for different programs, but it doesn't matter since it's all done online.

If you live in New York State then SUNY- Empire State College is probably your cheapest option. It's an accredited state university (I think by the Middlestates something - whatever, it's a real college).
CUNY stands for city university - usually a 2-year college that gives an associates degree, I think. It's less expensive (and usually on a lower level) than a state university, but you can transfer after a year ro two to a 4-year program if your grades are up to it and you so wish.

Empire State also gives credit for prior college-level learning, such as when you learned Chumash or Jewish history during a year in seminary, or you can request that the University give you a test and you get credit for speaking Hebrew or Yiddish or whatever. Also for quantifiable college-level skills you learned at work, e.g. programming or something else you do, or household management.

You'll need 120 credits to graduate from them. Some of those credits have to be "upper level" credits - I.e., from a course that built on another course you took. And a certain minimum number of credits, usually equivalent to one year of learning, must be taken through Empire State College in order to receive a degree from them.

hatzlacha!!

oh wow, thanks so much guys! how much does SUNY usually cost? you can really get a Bachelor of Arts or Science totally ONLINE? do they have scholarships for SUNY or similar payment discounts?

Thank you!!! (If I am tinking of taking O.T later on in my life, I should first speak to a graduate OT program like for example Touro and ask them if a BA from SUNY is ok?

I know im asking basic and maybe stupid questions but I really am starting from scratch.

also do you need to have taken your SAT first? cuz I am from Canada and never took it- they dont require it there.

As crazy as this is...University of Western Kentucky is COMPLETELY legit and has several online programs. I first heard of their online speech therapy program. I have had many friends who are living in Brooklyn and Lakewood do the online program there because its a very good program and highly flexible. I looked online and they have a couple of online BA/BS programs as well. The main one I saw that you might be interested in is: BA in Family & Consumer Sciences w/ concentration in child studies. They unfortunately do not have OT online...but if you end up being interested in speech therapy, they have a great masters program. I know for the masters program you need to come up at some point over the summer...not sure how long, so make sure you look into that for the Bachelor's program. If you do have to go up for a shabbos, there is a community in Nashville (about 45 min away), it's not very big, but you could be there for shabbos. There is always a group from Lakewood that comes down in the summer for a couple of weeks for the speech program.
