I didn't really see why this is OMGSO FUNNY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Probably because my 2 1/2 year old has been doing this since he was 1.
He babbles nonstop for minutes on end with body language and tone of voice, often chuckling like he's telling a joke. Just doesn't have the vocabulary. _________________

your 2.5 year old should be saying real words.... sorry for being a couch diagnostician but I think he needs speech therapy.

Yeah well, the pediatrician won't give me the paperwork to have him evaluated and his 'remedy' is to send him to daycare.
Which I would do, if we could afford it.
And he does say real words. Just not that many.

| thats why you don't find this adorable. it isn't age appropriate for your son, he is supposed to be past this stage. if your younger one would be babbling like this you would be amazed, no?

my daughter does this sometimes. we recently took a trip to shop right, she started babbling when we where still in the house and didn't stop till we got home, was at least 45 minutes. she had her opinion on everything and wouldn't sit up straight in the shopping cart, she sat twisted so she can see what we put in...

Did you bother reading everything I originally wrote? My son has been doing this since he's one. Which looks to be the same age as the little girl in the video.
I just don't see what's so original about it.
This has nothing to do with my son's language abilities now at 2 1/2.

not all kids are this verbal. that is the amusing part for people who don't always see this everyday. (I think)

| just put down with a customer service rep, we had a 10 minute conversation with my daughter babbling in the background. the rep thought it was very amusing and burst out laughing in middle. I guess she is one of those that enjoy it.

My reply is directed to YESHASETTLER and I AM a speech pathologist.
First thing, have your son's hearing tested. You can get a referal from an ENT without going thru your pediatrician.
Secondly, Children under the age of three must be seen by law in a Machon Lehitpatchut haYeled. Where do you live? Contact the hospital directly and maybe you can sidestep your doctor's referral. You may need a Tofes 17.
Early intervention is one of the best prognasticators of improvement.
Better to get an evaluation and be told that he is age appropriate than wait and find out that he could have been helped earlier.
Children learn the best from other chldren and being in a formal setting most likely would help him but if you can't then try to make sure that he socializes with other kids his age as much as possible and maybe joins in some kind of chug or mommy and me group.
Does he understand? Can he bring you something from another room, ie if you ask him to go get his shoes or wipes? Can he imitate body actions like hand clapping in rhythm or patting the top of his head? Does he imitate speech sounds like "BA BA ME!"
PM me if you have questions. If you need to overrule your doctor, go to the head of the clinic or call customer services in your health plan. You are your child's advocate. Don't let some one else decide that he doesn't need an evaulation because you couldn't affort childcare!!!
Good Luck, and I would be happy to help you!

My one and a half year old USED to do that. Then he learned how to talk and now he frequently wants to have a conversation, has nothing to say, but won't just babble. So the conversation will go like this:
DS: Geese in-a-sky!
Me: geese in the sky?
DS: Yah! Fy-een!
Me: Flying?
DS: Yah! Fy in-a-wayer. Eat!
Me: Fly in the water?
DS: Yah! Eat dass! Eat doo-die
Me: They eat grass and cookies?
DS: Yah!
[pause]
DS: Geese! Geese in-a-sky!
[repeat six times. shift to another favorite conversation, repeat six times, go back to the geese.]
