What time is a normal bedtime for a 3rd grader that needs to be woken up at 7:50 AM in order to make her bus on time?

Same question for a first grader.

TIA

7:00 - 7:30ish but each child is different, some need more sleep, others less. Judge by the time that they go to sleep that they are able to wake up on their own in the morning with enough time not to rush.

7:30 should give them 12 hours of sleep. If they don't fall asleep immediately, you could switch their bedtime to 7:00.

My kids are 7 and 8 - quite different than a 3 and 5 year old - but, thanks for all the advice.

According to Dr. Ferber:
7 year olds need 10 - 1/2 hours of sleep.
8 year olds need 10 - 1/4 hours of sleep.
Good luck!

Wow, all your kids sleep a lot!
My 4 and 2 year old get about 10 hours at night. If they are in bed at 7 we're up at 5 or 5:30.
You have to try different bed times and see what works.

my six and four year old are in bed by seven and usually wake up about six ish. I think at least ten hours remember a child who sleeps more is usually better at concentrating

My 7yr old 3rd grader goes to bed at 8pm (though sometimes does not fall asleep till 8:30pm), gets up at 7:30am.
