Can anyone say why this woman is considered to be beautiful in the fashion world? I think she looks like a human stick bug!

Would any man find this woman's body attractive?

The article claims the image is photoshopped, too. One commenter said her head was larger than her pelvis. That looks un-natural, distorted and ugly. But the fashion world continues to feed us sickly, skinny-looking models.

Why?

Are men attracted to that body? Are women consumers (meaning they want to look like that, too)?

No. Men are not (generally) attracted to that type of body, if such a body actually exists. Indeed, if you look at men's magazines, or advertising geared to men, you won't find women who look like that. You'll find very slender women, of course, but very slender women with the types of curves that appeal to men.

The image that is being discussed here is intended to appeal to WOMEN. WOMEN are the ones who prefer that type of unnaturally slender body. Sorry to say.

I was reading through the comments on the page and it looked like most women were commenting how disgusting it was and the few men who were commenting (or at least who you could tell through their icon or screen name) were actually acting attracted to the image. go figure.

I shop in a plus size store. I was eyeing this long, tiered skirt and the clerk smiled and said, ooh, it adds on right where it looks good. And all I could think was, if I'm shopping here, I don't need to add on to anything. What I said was, naah, I don't need any padding anywhere. Funny how in some communities "traditionally built women" are still considered quite attractive.

But there is a lot of pressure on the girls. I have to wonder if some of the boys who want the size toothpicks are happy after all's said and done.

why would a normal female want to look like a skinny, weakling boy?

I think many of the fashion designers are like the "skinny weakling boy" look, if you get my drift...
