| Any recommendations for bedroom wall decorations? Unfortunately bedroom is the only room with lots of space on the walls... I guess we can put up a wedding pic, but what else? We can't really do anything too Jewish or holy. There's one or two impressionist non jewish paintings of boats of whatever that we wouldn't mind... but what else??? There's just so much empty wall! And we're renting, so wallpaper isn't exactly an option... Thanks.

| I got pictures of flowers to hang up. My parents used to have baby pictures of all of us hanging in their bedroom.

In your room or for kids? For kids I got "stickers" at the dollar store...they peel off without ruining paint. I didn't see any particularly more "mature" stuff (I mean florals or motifs), but it's working so far. _________________ Emmanuel Tzvi: 26 Shevat 5766

| You can buy blank stretched canvas on a frame at a craft or art store, like Michael's, and paint it yourself. Do something exaggerated like an oversized flower or a motif from your furniture or bedspread... or just do something modern with the color scheme of your room. It doesn't matter if it isn't perfect. It will come out great and it's cheap and you'll have a story to tell about it!

Good idea! I did that with handprints for Benny's room.

| I hung up a huge collage of pictures in random order.. and it looks really good. I also bought an amazing quilt and hung it behind my bed it looks like a headboard and it doubles as a focal point in the room.

BennysMommy, that's really cute for a kids room! Can I ask you where you picked up the canvases, and what the price range is?
OP, another idea is to frame a beautiful piece of fabric. I've seen awesome pieces.

Wow thanks for the compliments! It cost me somewhere between 10 and 15 dollars. Bought the canvas at a local art store.
It did take a while to complete bc I only did 1 color paint at a time (time to dry) and I kept forgetting about it...

| this only works if you wear and own scarves, but if you do, it looks cool, and serves a purpose. Put 3 nails in your wall- a few feet apart from each other. and run a heavy string between them. drape your mitpachot over the string, and not only will you have a colorful wall, but you'll know what mitpachot you have.

I really like that idea! you all have great ideas!
I just read in a magazine that you can find in craft stores or walmart pieces of fancy designed paper for scrapbooking in ur color scheme and just frame them!

I like these ideas too--so far we've decorated all the rooms except for ours. We just got new furniture in our room 2 weeks ago--so now I feel like decorating our bedroom is all we have left to do! _________________ "You can say this for ready-mixes - the next generation isn't going to have any trouble making pies exactly like mother used to make." ~Earl Wilson

| I've definitely read about peel and stick artsy stuff that you can stick on and peels right off. Check urbanoutfitters.com in their home section- I think I've seen it there and you can at least figure out what it's called and search for ones that you like.

LOVE this! Great idea! I am trying to think of a way to incorporate the idea into an adult bedroom, without kids' prints. And many dollar stores will sell the canvases for a dollar each and the paints and brushes for a buck or two.

Is there a specific dollar store that you know carried canvases? I'd love to know where to look!
