I haven't thought that far ahead, honestly! (My husband thinks I'm a nut for already trying to make Pesach plans, and he's telling me I should concentrate on only the long term, and we should think about what we're doing next Pesach instead Confused So yeah, I can't really have a discussion about 2 years from now. We might not even live here.)You could probably just get a long t-shirt that is like a dress on her, and use that. I've seen people do that. Where I come from, the pool isn't on premises, so the boys have their hours and the girls have theirs at a private pool (not a backyard fill up one).

I was referring to the backyard fill up types here.

I wouldn't have thought about it either, if it weren't for the fact that I am constantly seeing it.

I haven't seen it, but then again I'm at work the whole day long Smile I assume there are some camps that have a pool that is an enclosed yard, but I'm not sure. Definitely by 4, I can send my daughter if we're here to camp BY where I'm sure there is much less of an issue.

I have bought tznius nightgowns at Daffy's (skivvydoodles & handprints brands). They are 100% cotton, but expensive at full price online. I bought some on sale in BP (טריקי פלאי brand) which are wonderful. Also have some from Carter's, Target, not cotton for winter. 2 years ago at this time of year I picked up some inexpensive waist-less dresses in kids' XS from Target and use them as nighties (they are 80% cotton). Whenever I see them for less than $10 I buy them - in any size - because they are hard to come by!

HY,

HY,

What do you intend to do about your daughter and wearing swimsuits at camp? I am a bit worried about that after seeing how the backyard camps take the girls swimming outside in full view of the public wearing swimsuits.

Atali, I'm not sure what age you are reffering to. My SIL has a backyard camp in the middle of the yeshiva area in Lakewood for 4 year old girls. A neighbor complained to a rav on the block that when walking to yeshiva you could see the girls in their bathing suits swimming - the rav said that it wasn't a problem at that age. Obviosly, you're rav may think it is a problem, but I was suprised that he wasn't concerned at all.

I am referring to girls of about that age.

My concern is not about the men seeing it since I think that most rabbonim here pasken that tznius begins at six or so (although it is somewhat of a problem for those who pasken differently).

My concern was more about the chinuch of my daughter, since we hold that tznius applies from three. Since we will, IY"H, dress her fully tznius by three, it would be problematic for her to go swimming in a swimsuit in a public area.

I also just ordered 2 nightgowns from gymboree on sale. They didn't look too long, so I got a M for my tall almost 6 y.o. I'll update when I see how they fit.

I wonder if this would be long enough...

http://www.gymboree.com/shop/d.....Selected=0

They have a couple of others that look like they might be longer but they are like $20+.

(If you sign up for gymboree emails, they will send you a 15% off code)

So I got the nightgowns today. The pink dotted one has a nice slim line, so although I need to roll up the sleeves (I'll try to get around to hemming them), the rest fits, looks pretty cute and falls below the knee. The brown floral, although longer, is kind of wide, and has a gathered, puffier sleeve -- altogether harder to fit.

I come from a very chassidishe home and yet my mother made us wear pj's with pants for tznius reasons. I feel she had the right approach since it's normal to uncover ourselves while sleeping.

Right now I have dd (2.5) wearing pants under the nightgown, to be honest, bc she will become uncovered and get cold (it happenned the first couple nights I had her in the gown).

notto mention not so tznius....I feel bad for her to be cold.
