| |
So we'll be hosting a sheva berachot a French couple and I'd appreciate some feedback on my menu plan. A couple of things first...
1. It's for a small gathering of maybe 20-30 people, sit-down but I'll be serving the main and side
dishes in buffet style from the kitchen.
2. Hatan is Moroccan, Kallah is Polish/Moroccan. So I'm trying to emphasize sephardic foods.
3. It will be on a weekday night, starting 8pm. So I'd like to go straight into the starter, instead of
having the cocktails and nibbles and the whole mezze first.
Starter: I'm debating either cold vicnychoise, or smoked salmon rose with avocado slices around.
Main: individual chicken bastilla, stuffed vegetables, lamb kofta, thai salmon kebabs, couscous with meatballs and vegetables
Sides: baked baby potatoes, grated carrot salad, artichoke salad, green salad
Dessert: lemon meringue pie, chocolate tarts, baklava and maamoul, something with marzipan, fruit salad (I want to make it tricolour with strawberries, blueberries and white peaches).
We'll probably do champagne toast right before dessert after dvar torah. Any ideas for traditional moroccan wedding banquets?

thanks. I'm a bit worried if it's too much chopped meat (meatballs, stuffed veggies, kofta).
I'm tempted to skip the meatballs for couscous, and just serve the grain in a big platter with stewed chunks of vegetables on top.
P-G I'll do most, if not all, of the cooking aside from dessert.

| I'd also skip the meatballs.
