I was considering starting a baby gear gemach and was wondering if anyone can tell me what it takes.
obviously I would need storage space, inventory, etc.
anyone experienced with this stuff?

I'm interested too. I'm thinking of a sheitel gemach. Never heard of one here, and in fact hardly heard of any type of gemach. _________________

I run a book loaning gemach and am in the process of starting up a boys Simcha clothing Gemach.
PM me for tips. _________________ A day without sunshine is like, you know, night.

my mom runs a baby scale gemach. you can call up hakhel and get yourself listed in the gemach list that goes around. also, what we found out the hard way is you must take a deposit (we return it when the item is returned in the condition we gave it). before we started taking it, we really got taken advantage of and many came back broken which we had to replace at our own expense.
hatzlacha in your new endeavor!

thanks twiz. I was actually looking to refurbish used items, then give them to people on condition that they donate it or pass it on to someone in need when they don't need it any more. so I don't really need a deposit, though I would probably ask for a small donation.
any advice on how to get donations?

in my experience, people usually put stuff they arent using any more away in the garage and forget about it rather than hassle with finding someone who needs it. if you insist on taking the items back, and people know they can call you if they need, more people will benefit.
having said that, I just cleaned out my garage and found an umbrella stroller I dont need anymore...I'd love to donate it to your gemach
